Christians really confuse me. (I'm confused a lot.)

They know that their life on earth is less than the blink of an eye compared to eternity. So, the only thing that matters is where you spend eternity. Nothing that happens to you in this life matters. All that matters is where you spend eternity.

So, why are Christians so concerned about this life? It doesn't matter if you are poor. It doesn't matter if you die young. It doesn't matter if you are loved or exalted by others. It doesn't matter if you own a house or a nice car or a boat. It doesn't matter if you go to college or get a high-paying job or get elected to some office or meet some politician or celebrity. It doesn't matter if your neighbors or fellow citizens or people in other countries commit terrible sins. Compared to where you spend eternity none of this matters, so why do Christians care about such things? Isn't it the case that what matters is your personal relationship with Jesus because that is what gets you into heaven?

I don't get it.
