Freedom? Love? Acceptance of others?

I thought the point of Christianity was to obtain a get-out-of-hell-free card. ;-)

I wonder if for some people the issue with the normalization of LGBTQ+ people in society is fear that their own child might "come out" in one of these categories? At that point they will have to choose between rejecting their child or rejecting their tribe. Since they find either of these choices truly awful, they hope that by keeping these people "in the closet," their children won't be tempted into behavior which forces the choice to be made.
