Portions of the US are on fire. The Colorado River and multiple rivers in Europe and China are literally drying up. Southern Florida has "blue sky flooding". Lots of towns, cities and states are experiencing unprecedented flooding killing people and destroying homes. Many people in the US are filled with hate for their fellow citizens because of their skin color, religion, ethnic background, or sexual orientation. Many people in the US want to end democracy. Some people with guns want to start a civil war. No one seems to want to do much of anything about these things.

Why wouldn't children feel sad or hopeless?
